# Crop, rotate, speed or reverse video > Browser-only file conversion. Selected files are processed on this device and are not uploaded to a conversion server. Source: https://localconverter.tech/transform-video Create an edited video segment with crop, quarter-turn rotation, speed changes or reversed playback. The tool also provides output format, width and quality controls for the new clip. Use it for focused demonstrations and short motion experiments, with special attention to audio timing and the tighter limits on reversal. ## Useful tasks - Crop a demonstration to its useful region - Rotate a sideways video - Create a short reversed or accelerated clip ## Steps 1. **Choose the useful segment**: Upload one supported video and enter start and length. Keep the segment short when reversing, because reversal has stricter duration and decoded-pixel bounds. 2. **Set crop and orientation**: Enter both crop dimensions and their left/top position, or leave both dimensions zero. Select a rotation of zero, ninety, one hundred eighty or two hundred seventy degrees. 3. **Set playback and encoding**: Choose the speed factor and optional reverse, then select output format, maximum width and quality. Run the transformation after checking the crop stays inside the frame. 4. **Check picture and sound**: Download the video and play it through. Inspect crop boundaries and orientation, and listen for the intended speed and direction of the available audio track. ## Settings - **Output format**: Choose output format according to the result you need. Available choices: MP4; WEBM; MOV; MKV. The initial selection is MP4. - **Maximum width**: Maximum width accepts values from 16 to 1920, using whole numbers. The initial value is 1280. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. - **Quality (lower = better)**: Quality (lower = better) accepts values from 16 to 45, using whole numbers. The initial value is 26. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. - **Start (seconds)**: Start (seconds) accepts values from 0 to 7200, in increments of 0.1. The initial value is 0. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. - **Length (seconds)**: Length (seconds) accepts values from 0.1 to 120, in increments of 0.1. The initial value is 20. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. - **Playback speed**: Playback speed accepts values from 0.25 to 4, in increments of 0.25. The initial value is 1. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. - **Reverse video and audio**: Turn “Reverse video and audio” on only when it matches your intended result. The initial state is off. Read the workflow and output limitations below when this changes how the original content is processed. - **Rotation**: Choose rotation according to the result you need. Available choices: 0; 90; 180; 270. The initial selection is 0. - **Crop left**: Crop left accepts values from 0 to 10000, using whole numbers. The initial value is 0. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. - **Crop top**: Crop top accepts values from 0 to 10000, using whole numbers. The initial value is 0. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. - **Crop width (0 = unchanged)**: Crop width (0 = unchanged) accepts values from 0 to 10000, using whole numbers. The initial value is 0. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. - **Crop height (0 = unchanged)**: Crop height (0 = unchanged) accepts values from 0 to 10000, using whole numbers. The initial value is 0. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files. ## A faster cropped demonstration A ten-second recording shows a task inside a large desktop frame. Set a crop around the application and choose speed two. Export MP4 and review the roughly five-second result, ensuring the accelerated instructions and cropped interface remain understandable. ## Check the result Upload a file, adjust settings and run the tool. All processing uses the local engine. Media jobs are bounded to 120 seconds; animations to 240 frames, 30 seconds and 64 million decoded pixels. Open the saved output in the app or workflow where you plan to use it. Check one representative result before repeating the same settings with more files. The original files stay unchanged. ## Limits - Files are processed on this device. Browser memory and engine-specific limits apply. Save results before reloading. - Media jobs are bounded to 120 seconds; animations to 240 frames, 30 seconds and 64 million decoded pixels. - Upload one file with a combined size of at most 100 MB. The completed output must fit within 200 MB. - Files are checked by the local engine; a matching filename alone is not proof of valid contents. - Selections and completed jobs stay available while you navigate inside this tab. Use My files to revisit results. Reloading or closing the tab clears the workspace; download results you want to keep first. ## Questions ### What does speed two do? Speed two plays the selected segment at twice its original rate, reducing its output duration by half. Available audio is adjusted in tempo as well, so listen to the result when spoken content must remain understandable. ### How much video can I reverse? Reverse is limited to fifteen seconds and sixty-four million decoded pixels. Resolution and source frame rate affect the pixel total, so even a clip shorter than fifteen seconds may require smaller source dimensions or a shorter segment. ### Does rotation happen before cropping? The crop filter is applied before rotation in this workflow. Enter the rectangle against the source frame’s coordinates, then choose the quarter-turn rotation that should apply to the selected picture area in the finished video. ### Can only one crop dimension be set? No. Enter both crop width and crop height or leave both at zero for no crop. The complete rectangle, including left and top offsets, must fit inside the original frame rather than requesting extra border area. ### Does Crop, rotate, speed or reverse video upload files to another service? Processing runs in this browser, on your device. Files and pasted input are not uploaded to a conversion server. The website and required engine assets must load first; large operations depend on available device memory. ### Can I continue after changing pages? Selections and completed jobs stay available while you navigate inside this tab. Use My files to revisit results. Reloading or closing the tab clears the workspace; download results you want to keep first. ## Related guides - [GIF to video](https://localconverter.tech/animation-to-video.md) - [Video to animated WebP, APNG or GIF](https://localconverter.tech/video-to-animation.md) - [Extract video or GIF frames](https://localconverter.tech/extract-frames.md) - [Compress or trim video](https://localconverter.tech/compress-video.md) - [MP4 to WEBM](https://localconverter.tech/mp4-to-webm.md) - [MP4 to MOV](https://localconverter.tech/mp4-to-mov.md)
