Audio waveform image
Turn a recording into a waveform graphic. Use Audio waveform image locally with practical instructions, output settings and format limits.
Audio waveform image
Create a PNG waveform image from a selected audio segment to show how its visible amplitude varies over time. Set the image width and height to fit a document or presentation. Use the result as a visual reference for a recording, with the audio itself retained separately for listening.
- Illustrate a voice recording in a report
- Create a waveform graphic for a presentation
- Compare visible amplitude patterns in short excerpts
How to use Audio waveform image
Choose the audio file
Add one supported recording with an audio track. Identify the segment you want represented rather than assuming the image will cover an entire long source.
Select start and duration
Enter the segment start and length in seconds. The selected waveform excerpt can be up to 120 seconds and must begin before the source ends.
Choose the graphic dimensions
Set image width and height for the intended layout, then run Audio waveform image. The engine creates one blue waveform graphic as a PNG.
Inspect the visual reference
Download the PNG and review it at its intended display size. Keep the source audio nearby if the graphic accompanies discussion of a particular recorded moment.
Understand the settings
- Image width
- Image width accepts values from 200 to 2000, using whole numbers. The initial value is 1200. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.
- Image height
- Image height accepts values from 100 to 1000, using whole numbers. The initial value is 300. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.
- Start (seconds)
- Start (seconds) accepts values from 0 to 7200, in increments of 0.1. The initial value is 0. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.
- Length (seconds)
- Length (seconds) accepts values from 0.1 to 120, in increments of 0.1. The initial value is 20. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.
A waveform for a voice excerpt
A report needs a graphic for a thirty-second voice sample. Select that excerpt and set an image size of 1200 by 300 pixels. Create the PNG and place it beside the recording description, using the actual audio for any listening assessment.
Check your result
Upload a file, adjust settings and run the tool. All processing uses the local engine. Media jobs are bounded to 120 seconds; animations to 240 frames, 30 seconds and 64 million decoded pixels. Open the saved output in the app or workflow where you plan to use it. Check one representative result before repeating the same settings with more files. The original files stay unchanged.
What to know before you start
- Files are processed on this device. Browser memory and engine-specific limits apply. Save results before reloading.
- Media jobs are bounded to 120 seconds; animations to 240 frames, 30 seconds and 64 million decoded pixels.
- Upload one file with a combined size of at most 100 MB. The completed output must fit within 200 MB.
- Files are checked by the local engine; a matching filename alone is not proof of valid contents.
- Selections and completed jobs stay available while you navigate inside this tab. Use My files to revisit results. Reloading or closing the tab clears the workspace; download results you want to keep first.
Audio waveform image: common questions
Does the waveform contain playable audio?
No. The output is a static PNG graphic showing the selected segment’s waveform. It is suitable for illustration or comparison, but readers need the original audio or a separate audio file to hear the recording.
Can I choose the waveform colour?
This tool uses a fixed blue waveform style and exposes image dimensions plus segment selection. It does not include a colour or theme control, so make further graphic styling changes in an image editor if required.
Is this a frequency spectrum?
No. The waveform depicts variation in the audio signal over the selected time interval. It is not a frequency-spectrum analysis, transcription or loudness compliance report, so use specialized analysis for those different questions.
What happens with a silent recording?
A silent or nearly silent segment produces correspondingly little visible waveform activity. Confirm the source and time selection if the graphic appears empty; the image alone cannot explain whether the quiet section is intentional.
Does Audio waveform image upload files to another service?
Processing runs in this browser, on your device. Files and pasted input are not uploaded to a conversion server. The website and required engine assets must load first; large operations depend on available device memory.
Can I continue after changing pages?
