Reorder PDF pages
Put PDF pages in a new order or keep only the pages you need. Use Reorder PDF pages locally with practical instructions, output settings and format limits.
Reorder PDF pages
Create a PDF with pages arranged in an explicit new sequence, keeping only the pages you list. Enter individual positions or ascending ranges in the order they should appear. This is useful for correcting a scanned packet, moving a cover sheet or removing irrelevant pages while building the intended reading sequence.
- Move a cover sheet to the front
- Correct a scanned document sequence
- Reorder and keep selected report sections
How to use Reorder PDF pages
Add the source document
Choose one working, unprotected PDF with up to one hundred pages. Inspect the actual page positions, including covers and unnumbered pages, before constructing the new sequence.
Enter the new page order
List page positions in the desired order, such as 3,1,2. Use ascending ranges where useful and include every page that should remain in the output.
Create the rearranged PDF
Run Process document after checking that no page appears twice. Omitted pages are removed from the output rather than automatically appended to the end.
Review sequence and completeness
Download the result and inspect the first page, section transitions and final page. Compare the output page count with the number of pages you intended to retain.
Understand the settings
- Page order (for example 3,1,2)
- Page order (for example 3,1,2) is applied to this tool job. Use the value or syntax described in the example below. The initial value is “1”.
A misplaced cover sheet
A three-page PDF has its cover at position three. Enter 3,1,2 and create the new document. Review the downloaded PDF to confirm the cover is first and the two content pages still follow in their intended reading order.
Check your result
Choose a file, adjust the settings, then download the result. Each page may appear once. Omitted pages are removed. Open the saved output in the app or workflow where you plan to use it. Check one representative result before repeating the same settings with more files. The original files stay unchanged.
What to know before you start
- Files are processed on this device. Browser memory and engine-specific limits apply. Save results before reloading.
- Each page may appear once. Omitted pages are removed.
- Upload one file with a combined size of at most 100 MB. The completed output must fit within 200 MB.
- Files are checked by the local engine; a matching filename alone is not proof of valid contents.
- Selections and completed jobs stay available while you navigate inside this tab. Use My files to revisit results. Reloading or closing the tab clears the workspace; download results you want to keep first.
Reorder PDF pages: common questions
What happens to pages I leave out?
Any page omitted from the list is removed from the output. This is useful for selecting sections, but it also means a short order such as 3,1,2 does not automatically keep later pages in a longer document.
Can I include the same page twice?
No. Each source page may appear only once in the selection. If your task requires deliberate duplicate pages, prepare separate source documents and use an appropriate PDF assembly workflow rather than repeating a number in this tool.
Do printed page labels determine the order?
The tool uses physical page positions starting at one, not labels printed on the page. Account for covers, title pages and Roman-numeral introductions when translating a document’s visible page numbering into the selection field.
Can I use ranges in a different section order?
Yes. Enter ascending ranges in your desired section order, such as 5-8,1-4, provided every page is valid and appears once. A range itself must ascend; use separate individual positions when arranging pages in another pattern.
Does Reorder PDF pages upload files to another service?
Processing runs in this browser, on your device. Files and pasted input are not uploaded to a conversion server. The website and required engine assets must load first; large operations depend on available device memory.
Can I continue after changing pages?
Selections and completed jobs stay available while you navigate inside this tab. Use My files to revisit results. Reloading or closing the tab clears the workspace; download results you want to keep first.
